Automatically generating compliance tasks with the seed wizard

Instead of creating compliance tasks one at a time, the seed wizard reads your standard's clauses and suggests ready-to-generate tasks in a single batch.

Before running the wizard, make sure your locations and team members are configured in Setup — seeding distributes inspections and tasks across locations, and assignment needs a team with the right roles. See Getting started with goiso.

Steps

1. From the standard's page, open the seed wizard.
2. Preview the suggested rows — each one is derived from a clause that needs action and carries its accountable role (HSE officer, facility manager…) plus the "accepted evidence" line that will travel with the card.
3. Everything starts selected so you read the honest full workload; trim what is out of scope with Select all / Clear all or the per-clause checkbox.
4. In the assignment panel at the top, pick one person per visible role — each list shows the role's actual holders (plus the organization owner), so no card is ever assigned to someone who cannot see it.
5. If a row appears disabled with a “no holder for this role yet” badge, add a user with that role from user management and reopen the wizard.
6. Click Generate: inspections and tasks appear on the boards, already distributed to their owners.

Rows without an accountable role are assigned through the "Assign cards to" picker (defaulting to you). For surgical seeding: the clause expansion's Seed it button generates one specific row without opening the wizard.

Why this matters

Seeding ensures no clause falls through the cracks: everything the standard requires becomes a task with an owner and a due date — accountability lands on the right roles from the first moment, each manager then distributes execution to their team, and every executor documents their own work from “My inspections”.
